Biography
Irish actress, Saoirse Ronan, was born on April 12th, 1994 to proud parents Paul and Monica Ronan. With acting in her blood it was no surprise Saoirse had talent, and in 2004 she booked her first acting role playing the recurring character Rhiannon Geraghty in "The Clinic", an Irish hospital drama. Throughout 2005, Saoirse continued to play her character in "The Clinic" and soon after booked a role on "Proof" playing the young Orla Boland.
It seems Saoirse took a short break from acting, but in 2007 she was back on our screens in the hit film "I could never be your woman" Starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Paul Rudd. She showed us just how talented she really is, by pulling off a flawless American accent and sweetly singing a mock of Alanis Morissette's "Ironic".
But she didn't stop there. Later in 2007 Saoirse was cast in the major motion picture "Atonement" playning the young Briony Tallis oppostie huge hollywood stars, Keira Knightley and James McAvoy. Her performance in this has been widely recognised and earned her a Academy Award nomination for Best performance by and acctres in a supporting role.
In late 2007, Director Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings, King kong) noticed just how special young Saoirse is and cast her as his leading lady in the film adaptation of the best selling book "The Lovely Bones" which is set for release in 2008/2009.
With four major films released in 2007 alone I think it's safe to say Saoirse has something special, and im sure we can expect great things from her in the future.
